Osk’s Hot Links

So I just returned from some time off, and have been able to check out the COTG Discussion Boards for the first time in like ten days. There’s some fun stuff going on.

If you’re not a frequent visitor of Chris Ingersoll’s fantastic Filsinger game site, you might have not seen these topics that seemed to fit right in with the flavor of what’s going on Online.

JUST ADDED: The GWF 2119 Power Ranking vote/discussion.

Here’s an aCe 2121 community “Rumble” run by incognito.

A brief review by BDS (with SPOILERS) of the aCe 2121 set can be found here.

There’s some great aCe feds out there now. Here you’ll find BDS’ aCe fed and here is Wildcat’s aCe Warfare!

I found these random threads very interesting reads as well: here’s one by thefaction about aCe Mythology and here’s yet another by resident staffer BDS discussing aCe Theme Songs.

Not to fear GWF fans!

Soon enough, with the New Beginning package available Online, I’ll feature another Hot Links to the Boards that discuss GWF topics…and as some of us already know, there are a ton of great GWF federations on the Boards!

Stay tuned in to what the COTG community is talking about on the Boards!

The Story of…SPECIAL EDITION FLATLINER

Inside the Flatliner armor was still enclosed the corpse of the man once called Trench. Actually, the mechanism housed less than the pale and gaunt decomposing body as it did the year before. This year, all that was left of the dead humanoid was the skeleton. Beside the frightening new version of Flatliner stood another creation of the Mad Designer…

~excerpt from aCe:2121 Ultimatum

As you can see, Flatliner is taking an even darker turn in aCe:Ultimatum. He’s got a new partner and even a 2121 SPECIAL EDITION CARD on the way! Remember, soon enough, you’ll be able to get your hands on the BATTLE FOR CENTRA PACKAGE which will include both his 2119 card and his new SPECIAL EDITION card plus every colored version of good ol’ Flats.

But for now, we’ve got another decision to make as a group. Just like our GWF buddy Sly Drury, we’ve now got an aCe character, Flatliner, who’s got four unique enough colored versions to allow for a vote.

Which one do you guys think should be the “official” version?

Go here to vote!

The Story of…Bad Blood

Mr. Bloat Strikes Again Claiming His Eleventh Victim!

Fat and miserable, cunning and cruel was Odious Bloat. His non-humanoid skin was slick and fetid, reeking of last weeks baked garbage. The method of his killings was always by razorblade.

Somewhere near the bottom of the newspaper page that was stamped with the aforementioned headline was the line: Sheriff Esperanto of Westworld Province claims that he and his close-knit crew of Regulators are very close to tracking down the sickening serial killer.

That line spoke the truth.

Esperanto and his Regulators tracked down and apprehended Bloat soon after the date of publication. Most of his men were killed by the homicidal alien in the process, but when the day was done, Esperanto had captured his man.

The trial was quick. The sentence harsh and swift: life imprisonment in solitary confinement. Any form of psychological treatment was forbidden on the basis of being too risky. Bloat was simply too deadly to deal with.

Four years have since passed.

While Mr. Bloat was kept alone with his thoughts and heaping piles of prison issued slop (fifteen meals a day are required of his rotund alien race), Esperanto retired from his position as Sheriff…and turned to the bottle.

But in the year 2121, at the very climax of the Battle for Centra, Esperanto will be posed with a choice. A second chance, rather.

…as will Mr. Bloat.

aCe 2121: Ultimatum is coming soon.

The Story of…Gabriel

In 2119 evil triumphed.

In 2120 it did so again.

In 2121 the powers of good shall align as one to take down the gathering forces of darkness.

The Others will first deliver the message. And then together, as The Archangels, Exodus and Gabriel shall herald the rest of them towards final battle.

The Story of…SPECIAL EDITION AEGIS

In and around the mid-summer months of the year 2120 in the Dimension called Centra, a discovery was made.

On one of the dozens of tiny moons of the planet Primus, this one named Oor, was found a heap of wreckage.

The debris of what appeared to be a small salvage shuttle made up the core of what was a larger crash site. The scene was discovered by Scorch’s company of miners and shortly after, a team of ROC scientists quarantined the area. The wings had been shredded during the rapid descent and the bodies of the crew were apparently disintegrated due to the breach in the ship’s hull prior to impact. Any other scattered pieces that remained of the shuttle were damaged and burnt beyond recognition. There was however one exception.

A large section of paneling remained completely intact. It was void of any visible signs of damage. The paneling was carefully secured and shipped to Centra Prime for further research. The test results were startling to say the least. There were minute traces of Essence found embedded in the paneling.

As if that discovery had not been incredible enough, downloading the ships data log explained exactly where this shuttle had been: the birthplace and home of the most valued element in the Centra Dimension. It had been to the Dark Matter region.

The data log explained that this was a salvage ship that had belonged to pirates, space raiders out to make a tremendous score. The ship was named The Scamp, and had headed blindly into the highly unstable Dark Matter region. The deciphered data log explained that the ship had in fact reached the region, but as they entered, an unknown pulse of energy interrupted the recording. The rest of The Scamps voyage would forever remain a mystery.

While the authorities explained to the media that The Scamp tore apart during its rapid, out of control descent into the atmosphere of Oor, other investigators debated these claims, explaining that it was quite clear that the damage to the shuttle occurred during its travels into the Dark Matter region, not during its crash landing.

“If that were the case, then who flew the shuttle back?” reporters questioned.

That answer too would remain a history. For the time being, at least.

Meanwhile, investigation and studies on the piece of paneling taken from The Scamp continued. The fascinating material was malleable, yet resisted all damaging effects, even from nuclear sources. Strangely enough, strains of Plague virus seemed to actually recoil when exposed to the paneling.

It was the bright idea of Lance At-Las, second-in-command of the Ramparts of Centra that this paneling be tempered into a protective suit of armor. Christened the Advanced BattleGear, it was designed to fit a soldier capable of utilizing its defensive powers to their truest potential — it would be donned by the captain of the ROC forces himself. The Advanced BattleGear would be worn by Aegis, leader of the men of Centra Prime.

Aegis would go on use this new suit of armor to battle the Plague infested zombies led by Murdok and the demonic forces of Godsend in the months that followed. Hoping…praying that this new, special addition would help him in rescuing his long lost love Trisis.

Time will tell.

The Story of…THE MOTHERSHIP AND THE DEMON

Dateline: Late 2120

“They see you as a helpless, hopeless savage. A deadly monster whose existence hardly holds the value of the ammunition it would take to destroy it. But they’re mistaken, as they most often are. I, the eldest and some say wisest of the Ancient lifestream, recognize your worth. And now, with our victory in this Dimensional Tournament, perhaps the mass opinion on your experimental usage will be swayed. Perhaps…”

A soft green light glowed to life from inside Nicodemus’ helmet as he shook his head. “But I fear not.”Nicodemus took a step back from the slumbering creature of Primus. The massive heaps of muscle that made up the body of Hybrid rose and fell as it breathed heavily in its sleep. Its Ravager brain was far down in a deep sea of sleep, unimaginable alien images of dark Ancient secrets constructing its dreamscape.

The Commander of the Mothership turned his attention to Warfare and Tekaro. The two Humanoid warriors lounged around brazenly. Tekaro was devouring hunks of meat from a large leg of some sort of Centran mutton in barbaric fashion while the masked silent giant meticulously polished his newfound weapons. Warfare had recently purchased and taken a keen interest (perhaps due to his partner’s obsession with violent instruments) in a pair of ball-point Ancient warhammers. NuBorn Destruction’s tag team titles of Essence were encased in a highly secure exhibit mounted into the wall of the Command Deck behind the duo. Their sequences of soft pulses were opposite of the neon bright circuitry that lined the wall around their exhibit.

“And to the Tag Team champions of the aCe I say congratulations and offer my gratitude for your services.” Warfare looked up briefly at the Ancient before returning to his trance like state of polishing his warhammers while Tekaro smiled and raised his leg of mutton towards Nicodemus in acknowledgement.

Nicodemus turned towards the front of the Mothership; hands clasped behind his back and looked out into the cosmos. He continued to speak to his troops as he surveyed the other three heavenly bodies that made up the four cornerstones of the Centra Dimension. A burst of swirling smoke shot up inside the Ancient’s helmet. His voice switched into a deeper tone, it was projected and echoey. “None of you are of my heritage, but all of you are nearly perfect specimens in your own right. I’m proud of this faction. And I’m comfortable in the direction we are heading. But I also say be prepared! In the upcoming year of 2121 there will be no room for error. The Battle for this Dimension will culminate into a scenario I dare not predict now. But let it be stated before you…it will be cataclysmic.”

~~ Meanwhile… ~~

The blonde man wore a deep crimson robe. He sat by candlelight in one of his many private chambers amongst the Ruins of Antilia. The demon Godsend was reading an old fashioned letter. It was handwritten in ink that stained the parchment with a dark copperish brown. It was certainly dried blood.

My Lord,

Being confined in this cesspool, surrounded by lunatics has become quite a nuisance, but oh the wonderful nightmares I’ve had while behind these padded walls!

My ink is hard to come by, so I must save most details for when we finally meet.

You must know that your following within these institutional walls grows stronger by the day!

There are many, many others. Men that have been committed and condemned by society who worship you, my Lord! And as I have vowed to do so, I will secure them. I will educate them. I will guide them towards the path that you walk! And so it is known, with a large enough cult our unified prayers and ceremonies may re-open the portals! And when those fiery gates are torn down, the rest of your forces can join the Battle for Centra! The end is nigh, my Lord! The end is nigh!”

–D.Grimcraft

Godsend smirked. A puff of red flame shot up his hand, and danced wickedly down his finger tips, hungrily gobbling the letter in an instant.

The Story of… THE OTHERS

From the distant future come…
THE OTHERS

Meet Omni and Odyssey…The Others.
These two Ravagers have traveled through time to deliver a startling message in aCe 2121. We can’t tell you what it is yet, but it promises to shake things up beyond belief!
These two agile warriors bring with them some of the most unique card mechanics COTG has ever seen! Wait until you see their finishing move CHRONOFLOW…or better yet how it’s extra effective when the duo is in a state of DUALITY!
Why would they enter such a state? Well it comes naturally as Omni and Odyssey are actually the same person from two different timelines! Omni hails from a future in which the forces of good are victorious in the Battle for Centra…while Odyssey comes from a darker place in which the forces of evil rule with an iron fist!
The Others have arrived in 2121 as it is a pivotal point in determining which timeline lies ahead for the Centra Dimension!
Sound interesting? Well there’s much, much more where that came from in…
