CLASSIC CARDS FROM THE HISTORY OF TOM'S FED!

Tom plays with Chad Olson at an early GalactiCon.

Card 1 at the Niagara Tower of Lights:
Thantos defeated Star Warrior with the MASTERLOCK to become the Heavyweight Champion; Krakan and the Blood Brothers beat the Fighting Titans in a 3-Man Tag Match with Titan Death rules when Viper pinned Billy Jo Boxer; the Norse Gods crushed the Headsmen; Adam Blast won by DQ over Comrade Terror; Beauty and the Beast won over the Space Croppers when the Creeper beat Beast-Rider with the CREEPER GRIP; Commander Sam easily defeated the Mutant.

Commentary:
Well, here's my first card (a house show featuring the GWF on tour) of my still-current GWF fed. I'd played many times prior to this card, but for some reason never kept a fed going. Perhaps this is because at this time I played COTG with a friend and didn't play solo. The fun advantages of playing solo and reporting results to others in the nascent COTG community had not yet reared its head. It's also clear that my official fed began after Invasion 2088 was released. I had a tournament for the main belts PRIOR to this card, but I can't find any records of the match results, if they were recorded. It's clear though that Star Warrior won the tournament for the Heavyweight Belt (and then dropped the belt to Thantos on this card) and the Greek Gods won the Tag Belts. My notes for this card state that Comrade Terror had Adam Blast bloodied and beaten, but would not pin him because he wanted to punish the young upstart. With help from Commander Sam's interference, Blast was able to fight back to a DQ victory!

Card 8 - GWF TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS at Andromeda SuperPlex:
Heavyweight Champion, Thantos, won over Lord Nexus; Star Warrior won by DQ over Pit Viper due to interference by Splatter; Powerhouse beat the Headsmen. INTERPLANETARY TOURNAMENT --- Billy Jo Boxer eliminated Ghengis Khan; Beast-Rider got an easy win over Vanity; Mad Jester made a comeback to win by DQ over Renegade; Lightening won by DQ over Splatter; Tongsoon used BATTLE CRY to finish off Adam Blast; Spike, who came to ringside with Reynard B. Guile, beat Battering Ram; (second round) Beast-Rider defeated Lightening; Billy Jo Boxer knocked out Mad Jester; (round three) Beast-Rider upset Tongsoon; Billy Jo Boxer won by DQ over Spike; (final round) BILLY JO BOXER crushed Beast-Rider to become the GWF's first Interplanetary Champion!

Commentary:
Card #8 was my first major pay-per-view event. I played this card nearly 15 years ago on December 29, 1988. The card featured a tournament to crown the first-ever Intercontinental Champion. The card also featured an interview with Wolf and Amazonia where the Bounty Hunter attacked Wolf and left him bloodied after the Hunter's Claw!

Card 12 - Ceres Convention Center:
Heavyweight Champion, Thantos, won by DQ over Renegade; Tag Champions, the Greek Gods, lost by DQ to Krakan and Ghengis Khan; Bishop Hell and Killer Queen defeated Star Warrior and Omega when Bishop Hell used the HELLFIRE to stop Omega; the Blood Brothers beat Lord Nexus and Pulsar when Pit Viper used the VENOM BLAST to finish off Nexus; the Executioner won over Man-Mountain by count out; Adam Blast finished off Vanity; Commander Sam won by count out over the Creeper.

Commentary:
This was a house show (I suppose the equivalent today would be a RAW or SMACKDOWN show) with the most exciting match being the Greek Gods tag match. After the match Krakan was a guest on Viper's Pit and challenged the Greek Gods to a Titan Death Match for the belts. For the record, the Greek Gods accepted and beat Krakan and Ghengis Khan on card #14, ending the Society of Death's attempt to win the tag belts, but at least they made a good run. Later in the show the Royal Overlord grabbed a microphone and dared the Galactic Punisher to "get a close-up view of HELLFIRE," which set the Bishop Hell vs. Galactic Punisher feud in motion.

Card 21 - GALACTIC WARS 1 at Rhea Forum:
Heavyweight Champion, Thantos, won over the Galactic Punisher; Tag Champs, the Greek Gods, defeated the Headsmen; Interplanetary Champion, Exo-King, won by count out over the King of GWF Wrestling, Mad Jester, in a Crown Match; Wolf, Badger, and Reptillo won a 3-Man Elimination Tag Match over Bounty Hunter, Spike, and Reynard B. Guile; Star Warrior and Mesmer won a Cosmic Cage Match against Bishop Hell and Killer Queen; Comrade Terror beat Tongsoon in a Titan Death Match to become the official leader of the Alien Corps; Earthquake beat Brute in a Slam Match (first wrestler to slam the other wins) with the EARTHQUAKE SLAM; the Blood Brothers beat the Space Croppers; Pulsar defeated Vanity; Billy Jo Boxer won by DQ over Invincible Krakan.

Commentary:
Here's my first-ever GALACTIC WARS, which emerged as my biggest pay-per-view event in my fed! According to my notes, the cage match pitting Star Warrior and Mesmer against Bishop Hell and Killer Queen was a classic with everybody trying their finisher at least once unsuccessfully! Finally, Star Warrior was able to leave the cage against Bishop Hell. In the 3-man tag match, Guile wound up all alone against Wolf and Badger! It was sweet revenge for Wolf, who had suffered some embarrassing attacks by Guile leading up to this event. Needless to say, Guile got crushed! As for the Slam Match, which was billed as the "Battle of the Giants" between Earthquake and Brute, I might just schedule another Slam Match in my current fed. Seems like a cool idea.

Card 31 - Europa Garden:
Heavyweight Champion, Star Warrior, lost by DQ to Bishop Hell; Thantos pinned the Galactic Punisher after a missed turnbuckle leap; Exo-King defeated Earthquake in a Slam Match; Krakan and the Mutant won over Incredible Badger and Battering Ram by DQ; Renegade beat Death Knight by DQ due to interference by Pit Viper; Pit Viper crushed Beast Rider; the Gamehunters won by DQ over the Bomb Squad.

Commentary:
This was a house show I picked at random. The show was promoted as a "Galaxy of Stars." A talk show segment featuring Billy Jo Boxer, called Boxer's Gym, was part of the card. The Gladiators were guests on the show and threatened to win all the events at Aethra Challenge, presumably an upcoming pay-per-view event. Another wrinkle: The Gladiators were forming a new alliance with Krakan at the time of this card.

Card 55 - GALACTIC WARS 3 at E-Space Cosmic Dome:
Star Warrior and the Galactic Punisher won a Cosmic Comet Match over Thantos and Bishop Hell when the Punisher used the LIFE SENTENCE to beat Bishop Hell. Thantos and Bishop Hell turned on each other after the match; Tag Champs, TitanPower, won by DQ over Beauty and the Beast; Interplanetary Champion, Proteus, defeated Tongsoon; the Blood Brothers beat the Assassin Busters (Beast Rider and Executioner) in an Unmasking Match. The Executioner was unmasked to reveal...Trainer Jim; Massif beat the Bounty Hunter in a Top Rope Elimination Match; Wolf defeated Exo-King in a First Blood Cage Match; the Society of Death beat the Norse Gods and Actagon in a 3-Man Elimination Tag Match; Battering Ram crushed Killer Queen; the Incredible Badger defeated the Mad Jester with the BURROW BLAST in a match where the Royal Overlord was barred from ringside; the Bomb Squad won by DQ over Spike and Massacre; Brute and Mesmer fought to a double DQ; Omega crushed Reynard B. Guile in two moves with the TOMAHAWK THRUST.

Commentary:
Man, I was running a lot of angles on this card! In the main event, if Thantos pinned the Galactic Punisher, he'd have become the new GWF Heavyweight Champion. If the Galactic Punisher had pinned Thantos, then the evil gamemaster would have been banished for a year! Then there's the angle where Trainer Jim turned out to be the Executioner! I don't even remember that one...I'm sure it didn't last long. My notes also indicate that the Royal Overlord had just signed Exo-King, Killer Queen, and the Mad Jester, which means he was totally bummed out going 0-3 on this card!

Card 100 - GALACTIC WARS 6:
Star Warrior won the Heavyweight Belt in stunning fashion when he crushed Thantos in record time in a Torture Chamber Match; Tag Champs, the Gladiators, won over Animal Pack; Massif won the Interplanetary Belt when he beat the Bounty Hunter in an over-the-top-rope match; Spike won over Mayhem by DQ; Wolf won by DQ over Krakan in a Hitman Match when Thantos grabbed the money after Wolf applied the SAVAGE FACE CLAW; the Galactic Rebels beat the Norse Gods in a 3-Man Elimination Tag Match; the GalactiCops defeated Bishop Hell and Death Masque in a Titan Death Match when the Galactic Punisher pinned Death Masque; the Mutant won over the Creeper in a Cosmic Cage Match; TitanPower won two out of three falls against Nightmare; Iron Mane won by DQ over the Serpent Unman; the Royal Creeps won by DQ over the new Bomb Squad; Proteus made a comeback to win over Matter by DQ; the Eastern Dynasty ruined the debut of Vlad Hammer when they beat the Young Allies.

Commentary:
I'll never forget the main event on this card! For something like 12 fight cards I was building up a huge tournament with the winner taking on Thantos for the Heavyweight Belt at GALACTIC WARS 6. The fans were thrilled when Star Warrior emerged triumphant in the tournament and the result was an incredibly fast and one-sided win for Warrior! It was one of Thantos' worst moments in the GWF. Side notes: This card also featured a Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Omega and my notes indicate that the Unholy Alliance tried unsuccessfully to ruin the presentation! Also, the coming War Games team rosters were officially announced on this card.

Card 150 --- ONLY THE BEST 1:
Singles Tournament: Thantos won over Alpha Force by DQ; Star Warrior used the BIG BANG to eliminate Bounty Hunter; Matador of M83 won by DQ over Spike; Lance At-Las used the MARTIAN MANHANDLER to defeat Bishop Hell; Lance At-Las and Matador of M83 fought to a double DQ; STAR WARRIOR used the COSMIC BIG BANG to defeat Thantos to win the first-ever OTB Singles Tournament! Tag Tournament: the Gladiators crushed the Greek Gods; TitanPower won by DQ over Assassin Empire; the HitMen beat the Masters of Illusion; the Keepers won over the Cosmic Forces by DQ; TitanPower eliminated the HitMen; the Keepers won by DQ over the Gladiators; THE KEEPERS beat TitanPower in less than a minute to win the first-ever OTB Tag Tournament! Heavy Metal Tournament: Wolf used the SAVAGE FACE CLAW to eliminate Mayhem; Cannibal used the THROAT SLIT to finish off Iron Mane; Battering Ram beat the Mutant; Sectarian crushed the Serpent Unman; Cannibal stunned Wolf with a victory using the THROAT SLIT; Battering Ram crushed Sectarian; CANNIBAL used the THROAT SLIT yet again to beat Battering Ram and win the first-ever OTB Heavy Metal Tournament!

Commentary:
Here's the results of my first ONLY THE BEST pay-per-view event. AT the time, it wasn't planned that there would ever be another OTB, a quiet start for what would eventually become my second most popular event after GALACTIC WARS. At later OTB events I booked all the matches as Titan Death Matches, thereby eliminating DQ finishes. It took a while for the OTB pay-per-view to catch on with wrestling fans; the second OTG didn't take place until card #205 and even then DQ's were still allowed, the one difference being no one was allowed at ringside during the matches.

Card 170 --- GALACTIC WARS 10:
Heavyweight Champion, Thantos, defeated Star Warrior with the MASTERLOCK; Interplanetary Champion, Quasar, lost by DQ to Count Necros; Tag Champions, the Gladiators, lost to the New Order in their first meeting in a nontitle match; Alpha Force won over Chaos in a Hydra Lumberjack Match when Actagon helped out by applying the SLEEPER GRIP to Chaos outside the ring; The team of Wolf, Soldier of Fortune, and Iron Mane won an Elimination Cosmic Cage Match over Doomsday Creature, Dreadnaught, and Tendron; the Society of Death won a BattleZone Challenge against the Titans with Death's Head getting the crucial final victory against Lord Nexus; Bishop Hell beat Exo-King in a Coronation Match and won the coveted King's Crown; Bounty Hunter beat Massif in an Over-the-Top-Rope Match; Justice won by DQ over Spike; Mayhem used the DANGER ZONE to finish off the Galactic Punisher; Assassin Empire won by DQ over the Savage Ones; Mad Jester used the JAGGED EDGE to beat Killer Queen; the Advance Guard won by DQ over Asylum; Stud City defeated the Freedom Fighters.

Commentary:
Wow, what a card! It must have taken me two hours to play, but it looks like I was celebrating big-time the 10th Galactic Wars pay-per-view. Looking back, this was one of the New Order's best moments as they cleanly defeated Brute and Massacre. Problem was the belts weren't on the line! As it turns out, the New Order never won gold in my fed. It looks like the BattleZone Challenge was a classic Society of Death vs. Titans battle. The Titans won some early matches, but Krakan won two in a row to bring them back before losing by DQ to Lord Nexus. Problem is the victory took its toll on Nexus who was so beat up (i.e., had so many fatigue tokens) that he was finished off by Death's Head in the next fall. As for the Over-the-Top-Rope Match, I don't know what the rules were, but probably the first guy to throw the other one out of the ring got the win.

Card 210 --- HERO VS. VILLAIN BATTLEZONE MEGAWAR at Cobo Hall 3000:
All matches Titan Death Match rules with no one at ringside --- Lord Nexus beat Darkos; Pegasus crushed Lord Nexus in less than a minute with TOTAL SUBMISSION; Pegasus used TOTAL SUBMISSION to finish off Iron Mane; Wolf defeated Pegasus; Matador of M83 eliminated Wolf; Star Warrior used the COSMIC BIG BANG to beat Matador of M83; Chaos made a comeback to pin Star Warrior; Chaos overpowered Pulsar Prime; Chaos used the BOW OF DEFEAT to humble Thantos; Chaos used the BOW OF DEFEAT to humiliate King Lear; Raven used the BROADSWORD to eliminate Chaos; Bishop Hell used the HELLFIRE to burn Raven in less than a minute; Bishop Hell used the HELLFIRE to beat Alpha Force; Bishop Hell eliminated the final member of the Hero Team when he used the FLYING CROSS to beat Stalker. The Villain Team wins with 5 wrestlers not seeing action: Spike, Janus, Dreadnaught, Cannibal, and Vengeance. Chaos is elected the MVP.

Commentary:
This was one of my gimmick pay-per-views and I enjoyed it. Chaos and Bishop Hell ran some pretty impressive winning streaks and nobody on the Hero Team was up to the challenge!

Card 300 --- GALACTIC WARS 18 at Aethran War Dome:
The Gladiator Vanguard team defeated the Gladiator Legends team in an Aethran Ultimate Escape match with the following results---Thunder escaped against Wolf; Overkill escaped against a battered and bloody Wolf; Vengeance used the LETHAL CATAPULT to defeat Brute; Massacre used the CLEANSING to leave against Mayhem; Wolf made a comeback to escape against Mayhem; Mayhem used the DANGER ZONE to get the win against Brute. Heavyweight Champion, Chaos, lost by DQ to Colossus; Tag Champs, the Mercenaries, crushed the GameMasters with Vigilante pinning Thantos; U.S. Patriot became the new IP Champ when he used the FREEDOM FLYER to beat Darkos in a match with Massif as special referee; Janus used the GORDIAN KNOT to beat Splatter in a Falls Count Anywhere match; the New Order defeated Superiority Complex in a Titan Death match; the Matador of M83 crushed Alpha Force in a Cosmic Cage match; Pulsar Prime beat Bishop Hell in a match with no one allowed at ringside; Monad used the DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE to beat Raven; the Draconian Sheik defeated the Defender of the Realm; DragonMaster used the DRAGON DROP to finish off Enigma; Generation X crushed Flamboyance with Metalhead pinning Killer Queen; the Henchmen won by DQ over TitanWrestling; the Crypt of Doom defeated Exo-King and Jack of Diamonds; Chopper Mattock won a hard-fought match against Justice.

Commentary:
There was plenty of action on this card; I must have used my entire GWF roster. The main event was huge, especially since it was fought in Aethra. Spike and Brute were humiliated as they were left in the ring alone after the Vanguard escaped. According to my ratings, the best matches were Darkos vs. U.S. Patriot, Justice vs. Chopper Mattock, and the main event. This card also featured the debut of Overkill in the main event.

Card 335 --- BATTLEZONE BLOCKBUSTER at Algol Double Star Arena:
Raven beat Mandrill by DQ; Pulsar used the WHIRLWIND to eliminate Raven; Pulsar beat Chaos after the big man lost his Alpha Power; Wolf crushed Pulsar with the SAVAGE FACE CLAW; Heracles defeated Wolf by DQ; Heracles used OLYMPIA to eliminate the Matador of M83; Heracles destroyed Max Shield; Vengeance won by DQ over Heracles; Vengeance used HELTER SKELTER to defeat Pegasus; Monad used the QUADRUPLE CLAMP to stun Vengeance; Alpha Force crushed Monad; Alpha Force used the TOMAHAWK THRUST to defeat Ram; Janus won by DQ over Alpha Force; Mayhem used the DANGER ZONE to finish off Janus; Colossus won by count out over Mayhem; Colossus turned the tables on Enigma, winning with FEET OF FURY; Colossus eliminated Holocaust to score a victory for the Hero Team in the BattleZone! Results of opening matches--- Zodiac defeated Royal Blood in a Lepus Stun Rod match; the GameMasters won by DQ over Flamboyance; Genesis Prime and the WatchMen fought to a time limit draw; Dynamo used the MUSCLE RIPPER to beat Eagle; Mutant won by count out over Gila (yay).

Commentary:
The winning team in the BattleZone match received five points in the MegaTournament, plus two for any "survivors." This was such an exciting contest there were no survivors. As far as team affiliations, the Hero Team was comprised of Pegasus, Colossus, Alpha Force, Wolf, Raven, and Max Shield. Colosus was clearly the MVP for the Hero Team, winning three matches in a row at the end. The Villain Team featured Chaos, Heracles, Janus, Mandrill, Monad, and Enigma. Finally, the Independent Team roster featured Matador of M83, Vengeance, Mayhem, Pulsar, Ram, and Holocaust. The final match between Colossus and Holocaust was a 4-star match, which is always nice.
